Welcome to OnGoings – the podcast series from the OnGo Alliance, an organization dedicated to accelerating the development, deployment, and adoption of the CBRS spectrum for wireless innovation. We are committed to providing the latest information and perspectives to help enterprises, system integrators, managed service providers, telecom operators, vendors, and the industry at large take advantage of the tremendous opportunities presented by the CBRS “Innovation Band”.

Our podcast series will feature experts from inside and outside the OnGo Alliance, providing insights, opinions, and analysis on topics ranging from real-world deployment use cases, their business implications, and critical success factors for private cellular, fixed wireless access, and neutral host networks. Join us as we explore the potential of CBRS and uncover the solutions it offers for wireless connectivity challenges.

In this episode of the OnGoings podcast, we are talking to Dean Bubley, an independent industry analyst covering 5G, 6G, Wi-Fi, telecoms business models, and regulation. Dean is a prominent voice challenging conventional thinking about spectrum allocation and sharing. He’s been writing about spectrum issues for two decades and is regularly quoted in major publications for his contrarian yet informed commentary on the future of wireless communications. In our discussion today, we will explore how shared spectrum approaches like CBRS are revolutionizing wireless deployments and what the future holds for dynamic spectrum sharing across multiple bands and technologies.

In this episode of the OnGoings podcast, we are talking to Cornelius Honour, the Assistant VP of ITS Infrastructure at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport – the second busiest airport in the US and third in the world by passenger traffic. This conversation will explore how DFW International Airport is leveraging CBRS-based private cellular technology to transform its operations. We’ll examine how this new network infrastructure enables the airport to harness data insights that enhance passenger journeys, boost satisfaction among employees and tenants, drive operational efficiencies, and create new revenue opportunities.

In this episode of the OnGoings podcast, we are talking to Dr. Preston Marshall, the Chairman of the OnGo Alliance and the Director of Wireless Standards and Policy at Google. In this discussion, we will talk about the potential of CBRS 2.0, the next evolution of Citizens Broadband Radio Service. With enhanced features and benefits, CBRS 2.0 promises to revolutionize wireless communications by improving spectrum efficiency, enabling advanced use cases across industries, fostering a more inclusive ecosystem, and helping to bridge the digital divide.

In this episode of the OnGoings podcast, we’re talking to Johnathan Lewis, the Innovation Division Director at Miami International Airport – America’s busiest airport for international freight and the second busiest for international passenger traffic. In our discussion today, we will talk about how Miami airport is using CBRS-based private cellular network to drive digital innovation and unlock the full potential of data to improve the passenger experience, enhance employee and tenant satisfaction, reduce operational costs, and generate new revenue streams.

In this episode of the OnGoings podcast, we’re talking to Jonathan Polly, the Digital Transformation Advisor and Program Manager for the 5G Innovation Lab at California Polytechnic State University. The Cal Poly Digital Transformation Hub is a Cloud Innovation Center that solves real-world challenges, accelerating the adoption of technologies such as cloud, edge, and the Internet of Things for public sector organizations

In our discussion, we will talk about how Cal Poly is using CBRS innovation band for private cellular and neutral host networks to provide meaningful impact to their community and unlock new opportunities for multiple industries.

In this episode we are talking to three distinguished guests from the New York Public Library – Garfield Swaby, the Vice President of IT; Geniene Jones, The Director of IT Strategy; and Jay Haque, the Senior Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations. The New York Public Library covers Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island and has the most extensive collection of items of any municipal library in the United States.

Libraries nationwide are well-known for loaning books, CDs, and DVDs, and many provide on-site internet access for subscribers. The New York Public Library began providing the means for nearby residents to have internet connectivity from home using a CBRS spectrum-based private LTE network.

In our discussion, we will discuss what prompted the library to offer this new service to the community, how they went about it, and the results they’ve seen.

In this episode we are talking to Richard Bernhardt, a Board Member and the Chief Marketing Officer of the Wireless Innovation Forum, the national standards organization for spectrum sharing and the Citizens Broadband Radio Service. Richard is also the Senior Director for Spectrum and Industry for WISPA, a non-profit industry association that represents and advocates for the interests of fixed-wireless internet service providers in the United States. Many WISPA members are already leveraging CBRS spectrum to deliver high-speed broadband services to unserved and under-served parts of America.

In our discussion today with Richard, we will talk more today about the strategic relevance of the CBRS spectrum to WISPs and the broader community of service providers serving residents and enterprises.

In this inaugural episode of OnGoings – the OnGo Alliance podcast – we are talking to David Broecker, the Chief Innovation and Collaboration Officer for the Purdue Research Foundation, a private, nonprofit foundation created to advance the land-grant mission of Purdue University.

The Purdue Research Foundation deployed a private cellular network using the CBRS band in Indiana, covering over 400 acres in the Discovery Park district, adjacent to the Purdue University campus. In this podcast, David talks about their network, the progress they have made since the launch, and their future plans
