New eNodeB Hits Sweet Spot for Cable and Wireless Internet Service Providers with Benefits of Performance, Ease of Deployment and Cost

The socio-economic need for high-speed, reliable broadband in rural communities is self-evident. The ABiT small cell leverages the inherent advantages of OnGo which include SAS management, high quality of service (QoS), broad coverage areas and robust security. Its sophisticated and compact platform supports a high number of concurrent users and excellent fixed wireless non-line of sight (NLOS) coverage. Deployment is simplified with plug-and-play through Self-Optimizing Network (SON) capabilities and flexibility to integrate with most Evolved Packet Core (EPC) vendors. In addition, the task of configuring, monitoring, and maintaining operations is streamlined through a remote Operations Management Center (OMC). Finally, reduced operating costs are achieved via very low power consumption.

“According to a recent report by the Federal Communications Commission, nearly 80 percent of rural American households lack robust broadband connectivity,” said Roy Nagasaka, General Manager for North America, at ABiT Corporation. “The Fuji Series outdoor base station hits a sweet spot to equip rural broadband service providers to better address this market.”

“The OnGo vision is to foster multiple use cases that leverage the broadband capabilities of the CBRS band, including in under-served and, even, un-addressed markets,” said Alan Ewing, Executive Director at the CBRS Alliance. “We’re delighted to see innovation from ABiT and their commitment to serve rural markets through OnGo deployments.”

The Fuji Series eNodeB works in concert with the ABiT Katana Series outdoor high-gain CPE (customer premise equipment) which converts high-speed cellular LTE to LAN or WiFi at the customer site to support wired and wireless devices such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets and other smart devices.
