Saginaw, MI (April 21, 2021) After a thorough RFP review process, MiCTA has named Federated Wireless as an approved vendor for CBRS Products and Services available to all MiCTA members across the United States.

Federated Wireless provides a fully turn-key Private Wireless network service based on newly available Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) technology. Labeled Connectivity-as-a-Service, this solution is engineered for cost-effectiveness and ease of deployment.  Federated Wireless takes care of the design, installation, operation, and maintenance. MiCTA members receive an ultra-reliable, high-speed, low-latency, power-efficient, high-density wireless network that is private and securely under your control.

Unlike a public network, a private wireless network can be configured to a location’s specific requirements, and configurations can vary by site, depending on the needs of the network users, from municipal governments to universities and school districts to libraries. A private network also allows organizations maximum flexibility to meet deployment timetable and coverage requirements.

Federated Wireless pioneered the concept of shared spectrum and worked with the FCC and NTIA for several years to develop the technology, processes, and policies to enable sharing Federal spectrum for private enterprise use.  Federated developed the world’s first cloud-based spectrum controller and environmental sensing capability network to allow spectrum to be efficiently and securely shared.

From Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to Arlington Virginia to McAllen Texas, Federated Wireless has already deployed the private wireless solution with universities, cities and school districts.  In 2020 the solution became particularly useful to quickly enable distance learning and remote working. CARES Act funding and new infrastructure funding targets exactly this type of high-speed broadband solution to recharge the economy.

MiCTA’s Chief Executive Officer Tim von Hoff said, “We are pleased to welcome Federated Wireless as an approved national vendor. Federated Wireless will serve our government MiCTA members and other organizations with complete turnkey CBRS solutions, including private network and spectrum. Federated wireless is a true pioneer in the field of shared spectrum.”
