Radisys’ software test tool will help enable the CBRS Alliance and its member companies to deliver a robust ecosystem of interoperable OnGo devices
HILLSBORO, OR, U.S. – January 23, 2019 – Radisys® Corporation, a global leader of open telecom solutions, today announced that it is contributing an Automated CBSD Certification Test Harness to the CBRS Alliance for its OnGo certification program. The CBRS Alliance supports the development, commercialization and adoption of LTE solutions for the shared 3.5 GHz CBRS band in the U.S. and has launched the OnGo brand for the productization of devices and services.
- Radisys is developing, automating, and maintaining the CBSD Test Harness for the OnGo certification program. The CBRS Alliance’s Authorized Test Laboratories will use the Test Harness to support the evaluation and certification of Citizens Broadband Radio Service Devices (CBSD) and Spectrum Access System (SAS) as OnGo Ready.
- Radisys will provide ongoing user support and user training sessions for the Test Harness for Alliance members.
- By providing the Test Harness for the CBRS certification program, Radisys is helping to enable a robust ecosystem of interoperable certified OnGo devices and accelerate CBRS commercialization and market adoption in shared spectrum.
“The CBRS Alliance is pleased to work with Radisys on the delivery of the CBSD Certification Test Harness, given the company’s expertise in software and spectrum,” said Alan Ewing, executive director, CBRS Alliance. “OnGo provides opportunities to businesses across the board, and Radisys’ delivery of this important test tool for our product certification program puts us one step closer to commercialization of OnGo technology.”
“The growing emphasis placed on wireless technology in all aspects of life today has led to the need for reliable coverage and connectivity of LTE offered within the CBRS shared spectrum,” said Neeraj Patel, vice president and general manager, Software & Services, Radisys. “We’re pleased to contribute our Test Harness software tool to the CBRS Alliance certification program to enable Alliance member companies to test and integrate OnGo technology, while simplifying the compliance and validation process. In addition to simplifying the testing process with WinnForum member SAS integration, this will help streamline the integration process of OnGo technology in settings such as neutral host and private LTE networks, ensuring multi-vendor interoperability and allowing any business to deploy and manage its own LTE networks in the CBRS band.”
“Moving to commercial deployments requires a robust certification program,” said Kurt Schaubach, CTO, Federated Wireless and Chair, Test and Certification Working Group, CBRS Alliance. “Radisys’ support of the OnGo ecosystem with the delivery of its Test Harness will help enable CBRS Alliance members to bring OnGo-certified devices to market faster.”
